Church
The Church was built in 1923. It replaced the first Mission Church that was destroyed in 1921 during a tornado. Luckily, the altar and some of the religious artefacts were saved and placed in this new church. The ceiling is original to the construction and was wonderfully preserved a few years ago.
Many celebrations have been held in the Church over the years, including weddings, baptisms and first communions ceremonies.
There are 14 pews to seat a maximum of 79 people with 10 people standing.
School House
The School House was moved onto the Mission site in the early 1960’s and used for schooling for just a few years. It was originally two seperate school buildings from the area and they were joined by a central hallway.
The main classroom in the School House is a bright room with turquoise painted floors, a large mural and features such as the original chalkboard.
This room is not wheelchair accessible as there is a stairway to access.
This room can accomodate up to 24 people and table and chairs are available if required.
Visitor Center Main Room
The Visitor Center main room is our largest room available to rent. It is bright and airy. On the white shiplap walls, some traditional items and tools are displayed, giving it a rustic feel.
This room is wheelchair accessible. It measures 30×37 feet and has a capacity of 40 people sitting or 60 people standing.
Locally handcrafted maple table and chairs are available in this room.
National Historic Site Grounds
Our main grounds are roughly 8 acres, borded by the Lac La Biche lake. It offers a wonderful setting for photographs in all seasons.
The grounds are also large enough to host bigger gatherings, with tents (at the renter’s expense) and ample parking space. We can also rent out our commercial kitchen.
On the grounds there are restored historic buildings, boardwalks, manicured lawns, barns, outbuildings, etc. This provides a fabulous backdrop for your event or photographs.
