
Do you love sharing stories, meeting new people, and making history come alive? Then we’ve got the perfect summer job for you! The Lac La Biche Mission Historical Society is on the hunt for enthusiastic Tour Guides to join our team at the stunning Lac La Biche Mission Historical Site.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝘀?
-You’ll spend your summer soaking in history on the picturesque shores of Lac La Biche Lake (seriously, it’s gorgeous).
-You’ll get to share fascinating stories about Alberta’s history with visitors from all walks of life.
-You’ll help create awesome exhibits that make history fun.
-Plus, no two days are the same—you might find yourself giving tours, hosting events, helping with archives, or sprucing up the site!
𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗪𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿?
We’re all about energy and enthusiasm! If you’ve got the following, we want to hear from you:
-A passion for Alberta’s history and heritage.
-Public speaking and communication skills that wow a crowd.
-A team-player attitude but also the ability to shine solo.
-Basic tech know-how (you can operate a computer and cash register).
-A lively, positive energy that makes you stand out.
Bonus Points If You:
-Have bilingual superpowers (English and French).
-Are studying museum work, heritage, or education (but not required).
-Have your own ride to the site (we’re a bit off the beaten path).
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂?
-A chance to gain serious career skills (hello, leadership, public speaking, and event planning!).
-Hands-on experience with history, culture, and community engagement.
-Work with a fun team in a one-of-a-kind setting.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀:
-35 hours a week, from mid-May to the end of August.
-You must be between 16-30 years old.
-We especially welcome applications from youth with disabilities, Indigenous youth, visible minorities, and newcomers to Canada.
